How A Loop Works
- Anchors happen every single day. Just check them off like a standard checklist.
- Loop subjects aren’t tied to the calendar. Work down your list in order, and tomorrow pick up right where you left off.
- When you reach the bottom, loop back to the top. Nothing gets missed, and a chaotic day never puts you behind.

Loop Ideas
Four Ideas to Start Looping
Not sure what belongs in a loop? Here are four common situations where a loop schedule might be helpful.
Morning Basket
Rotate between Poetry, Picture Study, and Read Aloud. Do one per morning in loop order, as you get to them. Then, repeat.
Electives
Rotate between Art, Music, Typing, and Nature Study. Get to them as you can, and continue along the cycle.
Inside Language Arts
Language Arts happens daily. Spelling, Grammar, Writing, and Poetry rotate and loop.
Math
If you have more than one math program, list them in a loop. If one is meant to be the main staple, list it more than once. For example, “Dimensions, Dimensions, Life of Fred, Dimensions.”
